  • CMA CGM container ship T Jefferson. I am pretty sure it is in the class of the largest container ships in the world today at about 1,200 ft. Today it is in Yantian, China.
  • The Northern Jade, a Hapag Lloyd container ship is also a very large one at about 1100 ft. It is currently in the Indian Ocean.
  • Stern of the Northern Jade headed under the Ravenel Bridge.
  • The next 3 shots are of two ships passing each other. As the old saying goes "Ships passing in the night." It looks like they are on a collision course.
  • You would not think they could pass. The channel is between 400 and 600 feet in the Cooper River. Not much considering their size and the fact that a dredge is operating right by the Ravenel.
  • This tug was following the ship on the right which is headed to the port docks. This is pretty normal. Between the two ships and behind the tug you can see a car carrier ship iat the Columbus St dock. Loading BMWs no doubt.
