  • Pelican wings just beginning to rise in preparation for flight.
  • I left a couple of photos out to get to this next wing movement.
  • Close to ready for take off.
  • Wings up and ready for thrust!
  • Wings strongly up. Front of body has lifted out of water.
  • Body clears water. Feet dragging out. Wings have moved down for lift.
  • Feet clear water seeming to push out. Wings curved in downward movement. He is on the way!
  • Looks like he kind of hopped out. Wings back now.
  • Oh No! A crash landing on takeoff?
  • Wing thrusters in action trying to avoid disaster!
  • You can't keep a good bird down! Back out of the water.
