Now she is moving ahead with all the speed I think they will make which is not much.

  • Clamagore begins her last voyage with Charleston in the background.
  • A sad look at what is left of a once proud ship. The batteries and other problem items have been removed for the trip.
  • A little closer look with St Michaels steeple in the background.
  • You can see the chain going to the tug in this one.
  • I moved from downtown to Sullivans Island to get some different shots. Alas, the harbor people made the tug and Clamagore move to an anchorage for an hour to let two sizable container ships come through.
  • A wide view of this large container ship.
  • Untitled photo
  • The two ships holding things up are shown passing each other just before the bend into the Cooper River.
  • Now a new ship sneaks in.
  • Charleston Harbor was quite busy today.
  • Untitled photo
  • Tug finally underway again. Notice the Clamagore is turned sideways. Maybe she is saying "I don't want to go".
  • Now she is moving ahead with all the speed I think they will make which is not much.
  • One last look at the proud old warrior.
  • There seems to me to be something appropriate about a photo of the Clamagore passing Ft Sumter on her last voyage. Fair seas Clamagore!
